search mission for that missing summer supple with five people on board and time running out. miguel marquez is a new plan tonight with the latest on the search, miguel. but >> mostly what's happening here on the ground and st. john's right now. this is the horizon arctic. this is the sister ship to the polar prince that took the submersible out there. the titans submersible out there. that is what it launched off of. and it is now the polar prince and is taking part in the search for the submersible. there are 3:17 big military cargo jets in atlantic and in st. john's. they have tons of gear to bring onto the ship, we believe. that will then pour out the canadian coast guard ship left earlier today and it is on its way to the search area. there are planes in the air, planes to not only look at the surface planes to drop buoys and listen for anything coming from that submersible.
8:03 pm
but the ships are doing that, at least the polar princess but the concern here is buddy should be locating that chip, appearing from it and getting an emergency beacon at some sort. they had not been able to hear anything from the ship so far. it is extremely -- the pressure is extremely great but deep down it is extremely cold but they're running out of oxygen and the fact they come on base that ship yet or that submersible is a great concern. the hard part would be once they find it getting its secured and hopefully bring those people home to safety. alison? >> miguel thank you but let's bring our experts now with me tonight. we have tim taylor, an expert in deepwater searches. you're seeing that isn't who plans and runs expeditions like this and also bill wheeler who's traveled down to the titanic site and has been friends with paul henri and the

8:06 pm
but harrison that many millionaires or billionaires are on this one. they like to do things like this. do you say you try to prepare for every contingency. what would you have done differently? >> my expertise and running for 20 odd years has been working the polar regions of the high arctic. that is very remote, we are underwater, we're not nearly as deep. but it comes down to really mitigating the risk assessment and mitigating risk for yourself. as an expedition leader but the obvious litigation. the potential litigation, the liability, and also look at for my clients. and at the end of the day it's taking care of clients so this is a very very big undertaking. i hope that everything was in place. that they needed. but >> bill as we mentioned you are friends with paul henry.
8:07 pm
but for more than bumping >> what about this development? this breaking news that the crews have heard these banging sounds every 30 minutes. and it is after the sonar devices are deployed but. >> as you said. if this is an accurate story then it is a tremendous amount. the time interval but suggest that it can be made and that is something that the ph is going to do but -- >> bill? i think we've lost two. -- >> good try to be located. >> sorry everyone bill, we lost you for a second there. he said the interval of every 30 minutes. what is a type that is something that the ph would do? >> it is man-made. when you are down there it is going to be dark, it is going to be cold but you're going to

everybody. poppy >> there is a huge debris fields where you can find a lot of things from china to piece of the wreck, and anything like that. the same conditions is totally dark and they have to use some light to see anything. >> so bill, as you can see him saying. it is totally dark, it is hard to see anything, so how will they, let's say that they have at some point that the next 30 hours that they could locate where the summer's abilities. how would they be able to spot it? how would they be able to find it? >> they would have some kinds of lights that will be shining in front of it. so that it cut illuminates an image from something that is in front of it. so they would be able to detect

that to thatso that they would p forward and see if the rv can go around and release the balance. if it could release the balance of that submersible then you've got archimedes working with you and it's going to start lifting on its own very quickly. it will still take two hours to get to the surface but inside they will know that they are underway. >> jim, well this banging help narrow the search? >> yes. yes they can triangulating noise. again, it's only happening every 30 minutes, they only have that update every 30 minutes. sofas happening permitted to be a lot easier in a lot faster. i would add to him the camera and the lights are on the rfp
